Medinipur, 12 December (Daily Kiran) – Two people were injured in a toto accident on the Khadagpur-Baleshwar National Highway-16 late Thursday night. The condition of the toto driver is reported to be serious. The incident took place in the Nekurseni area under Belda police station.
According to information received, a toto going from Dantan towards Belda suddenly lost control, struck a pedestrian standing by the roadside with force, and then overturned. The pedestrian sustained minor injuries, while the toto driver, Vishvajeet Nayak, was admitted to Belda Super Speciality Hospital in critical condition. The injured driver Vishvajeet Nayak is a resident of Birbarpur village in Bakhrabad Gram Panchayat.
On receiving the information, Belda police reached the spot and recovered the damaged toto. The police are investigating the causes of the accident.
