New Delhi, May 21: A chilling incident unfolded late Wednesday night in the Govindpuri area of New Delhi, where a mother and her son were brutally murdered. The victims, identified as 40-year-old Sharda and her 14-year-old son Khushal, were found stabbed in their home.
Upon receiving the news, police officials rushed to the scene. The attack occurred in Street Number 10 of Govindpuri. According to family members, the assailants fled with cash and valuables worth between 10 to 12 lakh rupees. The police have launched an investigation into the case.
The bodies were sent to the AIIMS Trauma Center for post-mortem examinations. Sharda’s husband, a vegetable vendor who has been residing in Govindpuri for the past 15 years, discovered the gruesome scene upon returning home from the market.
In a related incident, on May 20, a young man was shot dead in the Welcome area of northeast Delhi. The victim was identified as 22-year-old Amanullah Qureshi. Police, forensic teams, and crime branch officials arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of gunfire.
According to police, gunfire was reported in the Welcome area during the night of May 19 and 20. Officers arrived at the scene near Shyam Lal College, only to learn that Qureshi had already been taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital by his relatives, where he was pronounced dead.
