Jaipur, September 9 (Kiran News) — In a major crackdown against illegal narcotics, the CID Crime Branch Special Team, with support from Kotputli Police, arrested a doctor and his associate for allegedly supplying intoxicating medicines. Authorities seized nearly 50,000 banned capsules and syrup bottles, weighing over 29 kilograms, during the operation.

Additional Director General of Police (Crime) Dinesh MN said the team had received intelligence that a clinic run by Dr. Avinash Sharma in Kotputli was supplying cheap intoxicants to youth. After days of surveillance and confirmation, the team coordinated with local police and the District Special Team to launch the raid.
Shop and Godown Raided
Acting on a tip-off, police first raided a grocery shop near Lohar settlement in Transport Nagar, Kotputli, where Manoj Kumar Jat (35) was allegedly selling banned capsules. A search of the premises led to the recovery of a large sack containing Proxyco-Spas capsules.
On questioning, Manoj revealed more capsules were stored in a godown behind the shop. Police recovered two large cartons filled with intoxicating capsules. Drug Control Officers Mukesh Choudhary and Lata Bharti were called in to assist. In total, 48,576 capsules were seized from the shop and godown.
Doctor’s Clinic Also Raided
Manoj confessed that the capsules belonged to Dr. Avinash Sharma (39), who ran a clinic on the highway. Based on this, police raided the clinic and recovered an additional 1,240 capsules and 14 bottles of 100 ml intoxicating syrup.
Total Recovery and Arrests
In all, the joint action led to the seizure of 49,816 intoxicating capsules and 14 syrup bottles, weighing 29.389 kilograms. Both accused, Manoj Kumar Jat and Dr. Avinash Sharma, residents of Khedki Virbhan under Kotputli police station, were arrested under the NDPS Act.
