New Delhi, May 29: BJP leaders Praveen Khandelwal and Union Minister Giriraj Singh have criticized the Congress and the INDIA alliance, asserting that the opposition’s defeat is inevitable. They claim the opposition is attempting to divert attention from its failures by creating a ruckus over issues like Special Intensive Review (SIR) and border security.
Khandelwal commented on Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation, stating, “There is something seriously wrong within the Congress. The party’s downfall is certain, which is why it is struggling with dilemmas. Leaders are resigning and leaving the party, clearly indicating that Congress is a sinking ship that no one wants to stay on.”
He welcomed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement regarding the demolition of illegal structures near international borders. Khandelwal said, “Amit Shah’s statement is entirely logical and aligns perfectly with the current situation. The public has taught them a lesson and ousted them from power. Now, it is our responsibility to prevent this. The country’s borders must be completely secure. Some infiltrators attempt to establish bases just a few kilometers across the border, so the Home Minister’s statement on eradicating infiltration at its roots is absolutely correct. It will be implemented and must be done.”
Regarding the Supreme Court’s decision on SIR, Giriraj Singh targeted the opposition, stating that they were making a fuss over SIR, which is a continuous and ongoing process. “They are trying to blame their defeat on SIR. Whether Mamata Banerjee leads the INDIA alliance or Tejashwi Yadav, it does not concern us. The people of the country have already rejected negative thinkers.”
Singh further stated, “Elections were fought in Bihar, West Bengal, and across the country under the guise of SIR. Whether it’s Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, or anyone else, they are all trying to hide their faces. The reality of everyone, including Mamata Banerjee, has now come to light.”
He emphasized that SIR is being used to identify illegal infiltrators, which is troubling for the opposition. Singh supported the central government’s policies on border security and voter list purification, asserting that these measures will strengthen the country’s integrity and democracy.
