Mandatory e-KYC to Continue Pension
The Department of Social Justice and Disabled People Empowerment has directed district collectors, CEOs of Panchayats, and Municipal Corporation authorities to ensure that all pending e-KYC processes are completed within the deadline. If a pensioner fails to update their e-KYC, their account will be locked on the pension portal.
According to the department, approximately 3.5 lakh pensioners are yet to complete the verification process. All pensioners have been advised to verify their details online without delay.
e-KYC Linked to Pension Status
The e-KYC system, implemented through a portal developed by NIC, identifies pensioners who may be deceased, migrated, or ineligible. Based on this data, several pension accounts have already been deactivated.
The pension schemes covered under this requirement include:
Social Security Pension
Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension
Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension
Indira Gandhi National Disabled Pension
Chief Minister Kanya Parent Pension Scheme
