New Delhi, May 21: Central Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Thursday that the government is closely monitoring the situation as the rupee weakens to a level of 96 against the US dollar. He emphasized that all government departments are working collaboratively like a team, considering various economic measures.
Goyal acknowledged that while global conditions are challenging, India possesses strong willpower and confidence. He expressed optimism that India will emerge victorious from this difficult phase.
Speaking to the media, Goyal revealed that the chief negotiator from the United States will visit India next month. Discussions on trade and economic issues between the two countries are expected during this visit. He noted that India is consistently strengthening its position on the global stage, and the world is taking India’s economic potential seriously.
Goyal also expressed his happiness over Prime Minister Narendra Modi receiving the prestigious ‘Agricola Medal’ from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). He stated that India is progressing rapidly and the country’s future looks very bright.
Further addressing the media, Goyal highlighted India’s immense potential and assured that there is no fear or weakness among the Indian populace despite current global challenges. He mentioned that Modi’s recent foreign trip was highly successful, where he received three significant international honors.
The minister remarked that the FAO recognition is proof of Modi’s extensive work for Indian farmers, portraying him as a savior for the agricultural community. He noted that reforms in the agricultural sector and efforts to increase farmers’ income are now being recognized globally.
Goyal urged citizens to be more cautious regarding the use and expenditure on imported products. He stated that Modi’s appeal for the nation’s interest is being taken seriously by every Indian, who is contributing to nation-building through their efforts.
He expressed pride in every Indian who has embraced the Prime Minister’s call and played their part in strengthening the country. Goyal emphasized that in the current global circumstances, self-reliance and responsible spending are crucial.
