
Greater Noida, May 21: In a significant breakthrough in the high-profile murder case of Deepak Nagar, police in Greater Noida engaged in a shootout with two fugitive suspects on Thursday. Both suspects were injured during the encounter.
The police apprehended the suspects and seized illegal firearms and ammunition from their possession. According to police reports, they received information on the night of May 20 regarding a shooting incident outside the village of Vaidpura in the Ecotech-3 area. Upon arrival, police, forensic teams, and senior officials found a young man critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by doctors.
The deceased was identified as Deepak Nagar, a resident of Vaidpura. Following the incident, police registered a case of murder and other serious charges based on a complaint from the victim’s family. They formed five special teams to track down the suspects.
In a swift response, police had already arrested four individuals involved in the murder and conspiracy: Naveen, Abhay, Akash, and Mowgli alias Pawan. On Thursday, police received a tip-off that two other suspects were waiting near D Park Service Road. Acting on this information, the Ecotech-3 police set up a cordon to apprehend the suspects.
As the police approached, the suspects opened fire at the police team with the intent to kill. In the ensuing exchange, both suspects were injured. They were identified as Harsh alias Radhe, son of Kallu, and Jagat Singh, son of Chhidda, both residents of Vaidpura. They have been hospitalized for treatment.
Following the encounter, police recovered two illegal .315 bore pistols, two live cartridges, and two spent cartridges from the suspects. Authorities stated that further legal action is underway, and investigations into other aspects of the murder case are ongoing.
