New Delhi, May 21: Unmukt Roy, who has been performing exceptionally for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026, has been included in the India A team for the upcoming triangular series. He replaces Harsh Dubey, who has been selected for the national team for the Test and ODI series against Afghanistan.
So far, Unmukt has played 13 matches this season, taking 8 wickets. He is known for his ability to contribute with both bat and ball. This series presents him with a golden opportunity to impress everyone with his performance.
The captaincy of India A has been entrusted to Tilak Varma. The squad also includes 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, while Riyan Parag has been appointed as the vice-captain. Other notable players like Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Ayush Badoni, Suryansh Shedge, and Vipraj Nigam are expected to make significant contributions with the bat.
Priyansh and Prabhsimran Singh have also shown remarkable performances while playing for Punjab Kings in IPL 2026. Alongside Prabhsimran, wicketkeeper Kumar Kushagra has also been included in the team. Suryansh has made a strong impression with his aggressive batting style.
In the bowling department, Anshul Kamboj, Arshad Khan, Yash Thakur, and Yudhveer Singh have been selected. The triangular series will feature teams from Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A alongside India A. The series kicks off on June 9, with the final match scheduled for June 21. All matches will be played in the ODI format at Dambulla, Sri Lanka.
