National Rural Development Conclave to Be Held in Udaipur: Shivraj Singh

New Delhi, 21 August (Kiran News). Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, announced that a two-day National Rural Development Conclave will be organised in Udaipur on 4th and 5th September 2025 to accelerate rural development work across the country with the cooperation of all stakeholders. Minister Shivraj Singh, while chairing a meeting of rural development ministers from all states via video conferencing from Delhi on Thursday, shared detailed information about the upcoming conclave.

Shivraj Singh informed that the conclave will see participation from rural development ministers from all states, senior officials from states, union territories, and central ministries, along with domain experts, representatives from central organisations, community members, field workers, and beneficiaries.

He said that the conclave will focus on discussing ways to make rural India free from poverty and to build prosperous and resilient rural communities, in line with the objectives set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The agenda will also include deliberations on how to generate more employment opportunities in rural areas. Additionally, the framework for rural development schemes for the next five years will be discussed.

The Union Minister stated that several schemes under the Ministry of Rural Development are being successfully implemented, including the target set by Prime Minister Modi to create three crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’, which is nearing achievement. So far, over two crore women have already become ‘Lakhpati Didis’, marking a significant milestone. Rapid progress is also being made in providing houses to the poor under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, along with effective implementation of other schemes such as MNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and skill development initiatives. Union Minister of State Dr. Chandrashekhar Pemmasani and Secretary Shailesh Kumar Singh were also present during the video conference.
