
Bengaluru, May 21: A college student working part-time in Bengaluru has reportedly been raped by a friend of her employer at the workplace. Police officials confirmed that an investigation is underway regarding this incident.
The report was filed on Wednesday at the Madivala police station in Bengaluru.
According to police, the victim stated that the assault occurred on May 11 while she was working at a momo shop. She alleged that a man named Hainash, whom she knew through the shop, committed the crime.
The victim claimed that the shop owners, Atul and Ghosh, were partying with Hainash. She alleged that the assault took place around midnight when Atul and Ghosh had gone out for dinner.
The victim further alleged that the accused threatened her against going to the police or filing a complaint.
In her complaint, she mentioned that the accused was acting as a broker, assisting the shop owners in selling the momo shop. Despite filing a complaint against three individuals, she alleged that the police have not taken any action.
Recently, police in Bengaluru South arrested two men who had sexually exploited two orphan girls, aged 11 and 12, for over a year. The perpetrators recorded their actions and uploaded them on social media for profit. They were apprehended based on information from the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
In another case, authorities arrested five individuals for allegedly drugging and gang-raping a 19-year-old college student in a villa in Jakkur, Bengaluru. The initial complaint also included allegations of extortion and honey trapping, prompting police to conduct a thorough investigation of both parties.
According to police, the victim alleged that after being forcibly given a pink pill during a party at a private villa in a posh area of Bengaluru, she began to feel dizzy and lost consciousness.
In her complaint, she stated that she was sexually assaulted in a room of the villa after regaining partial consciousness, only to find herself locked inside the room.
