Japans PM Takaiichi: Only Trump Can Bring Peace to the World

Washington, March 20: Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaiichi met with U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday, stating that only Trump can establish peace amid the current global security crisis.

During their meeting at the White House, Takaiichi remarked, “The security situation in the Middle East and around the world is extremely serious. These conditions will significantly impact the global economy.” She expressed her strong belief that “only you can bring peace to the world.”

Trump welcomed Takaiichi, praising her leadership and electoral victory. He emphasized the strong ties between the two nations, stating that the U.S.-Japan relationship will continue to thrive.

The leaders discussed several key issues, including trade, security, and bilateral cooperation. On the topic of Iran, Trump clarified that the U.S. will not send troops there, asserting, “I am not sending troops anywhere.”

However, he also claimed that the ongoing conflict would soon end and that U.S. actions have significantly weakened the capabilities of adversaries. Trump stressed the need for allied nations to contribute more but noted that the U.S. does not rely on others for its needs. He commended Japan for fulfilling its responsibilities.

Takaiichi expressed concern over Iran’s activities, stating they threaten regional stability and that Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. She also mentioned the impact on global energy supply, indicating she has suggestions for stabilizing the energy market.

She expressed a desire to enhance economic cooperation, highlighting the strength of the U.S.-Japan alliance. Regarding China, she noted that Japan remains open to dialogue and is engaging in balanced discussions.

This visit marked Takaiichi’s first trip to the White House since taking office in October 2025. The meeting comes at a time when the U.S. expects its allies to play a larger role in energy security and global stability.
