Char Dham Yatra Breaks Records with Over 20.5 Million Pilgrims in a Month

Dehradun, May 24: The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is setting new records this year. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the pilgrimage has surpassed all previous records, with the safety of pilgrims being the government’s top priority.

During a media interaction in Ramnagar, CM Dhami expressed excitement over the overwhelming enthusiasm among people for this year’s Char Dham Yatra. In just one month, approximately 20.5 million pilgrims have visited the sacred sites. There has been a continuous influx of registrations, with devotees arriving from across the country.

“Our aim is to ensure that all pilgrims can visit safely. Their security is our utmost priority. We are making all necessary arrangements with this in mind,” he stated.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the state government is consistently monitoring water supply, electricity, health services, and other facilities along the pilgrimage routes. A recent review of these arrangements has been conducted.

In addition to the Char Dham, significant numbers of pilgrims and tourists are also visiting other religious and tourist destinations such as Adi Kailash, Mana, Niti, and Himkumbh. There is a palpable atmosphere of excitement throughout the state, and the administration is actively working to strengthen arrangements.

Earlier, Uttarakhand Minister Bharat Singh Chaudhary noted that the number of pilgrims this year has exceeded the government’s expectations. He highlighted the direct and positive impact this surge is having on the state’s tourism economy.

Minister Chaudhary stated that all agencies are on high alert to ensure the pilgrimage is safe and well-organized. Teams from the police, administration, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are continuously monitoring the situation.

The government has also made special arrangements for water and fodder for the animals used during the pilgrimage. Medical facilities have been enhanced to ensure immediate treatment is available when needed.

This year, the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham were opened on April 19, while the doors of Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham opened on April 22 and 23 for the pilgrims.
