
New Delhi, May 24: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai attended the Tribal Cultural Gathering at the historic Red Fort grounds in Delhi. He met representatives and members of tribal communities from across the country.
In an interview with a news agency, CM Sai stated that the tribal community organized the ‘Tribal Culture Gathering’ in the national capital. With over 120 million tribal population in India, he emphasized that they are all worshippers of nature. “We have our unique customs, traditions, and culture. For many years, some anti-religious elements have attempted to undermine our traditions, suppress our customs, and weaken our culture. Today, tribal communities from across the nation have gathered here to showcase their strength and unity,” he said.
During his visit to Delhi, CM Sai met with a delegation of the ‘Adivasi Samaj’ led by senior minister Kedar Kashyap at the Chhattisgarh House. They discussed various issues related to tribal welfare.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the development of the tribal community, the preservation of their rich cultural heritage, and their social empowerment.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda remarked that the massive gathering of tribal communities sends a powerful message not just to the tribal society but to the entire nation. “Due to their ancient civilization, culture, and traditions, tribal communities hold a unique identity in the country. They are the sons of the soil who have always fought for the nation, their land, and their rights over water, forests, and land. Preserving their culture has always been their tradition, and today, the tribal community takes pride in it,” he said.
Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta noted that urban residents, rural citizens, and forest dwellers are all Indians. He congratulated the organizers of the tribal conference and gathering.
Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra stated that a tribal cultural gathering is being held in Delhi, bringing together tribal communities from across the country.
