New Delhi, May 24: The repeated threats against President Donald Trump in the United States have posed significant challenges for the Secret Service, FBI, and other agencies. These threats target not only President Trump but also his family.
So far in 2026, security personnel assigned to President Trump have thwarted four major attack plots. These include an attempted breach at Mar-a-Lago resort, gunfire near the White House, an incident during the Correspondents’ Dinner, and another shooting outside the White House on May 23.
In February 2026, reports emerged about a security breach at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. According to U.S. media, a 21-year-old man from North Carolina was shot dead by Secret Service agents after he attempted to infiltrate the estate in Florida. He was reportedly armed with a shotgun and a fuel can.
The FBI stated that it is deploying all necessary resources to investigate the incident. The deceased suspect was identified as Austin Tucker Martin from Cameron, North Carolina.
In May 2026, an individual attempted to create panic by firing shots near the White House. This incident occurred near 15th Street and Independence Avenue, not far from the White House. Deputy Director Matt Quinn reported that the event took place around 3:30 PM. Secret Service agents, who were patrolling the area in plain clothes, spotted a suspicious individual suspected of carrying a weapon. Police were called to the scene.
When officers tried to approach the suspect, he fled a short distance before suddenly drawing a gun and firing at the security personnel. In response, the agents returned fire, injuring the suspect. He was taken to the hospital, but no information about his condition has been released. A minor bystander was also injured in the shooting.
The most significant security lapse occurred during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton Hotel. During this event, an individual opened fire at the stage where President Trump was present, along with First Lady Melania Trump and other officials. Fortunately, everyone was evacuated safely.
Immediately after the incident, security personnel acted swiftly to apprehend the assailant. Authorities identified the suspect as a 30-year-old man from California.
Additionally, there was a failed attack attempt on Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter. This attack is being labeled as a terrorist plot. According to U.S. officials, the assailant was trained by Iran’s powerful military organization, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The attacker sought revenge for the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in Baghdad in January 2020.
Once again, on May 23, a person unleashed a barrage of gunfire near the White House, causing panic. President Trump was present in the White House at the time.
This incident occurred around 6 PM near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, close to the White House and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
Anthony Guglielmi, Chief of Communications for the Secret Service, stated, “Around 6 PM on Saturday, an individual retrieved a weapon from his bag and began firing.”
The Secret Service reported that their agents responded, resulting in the assailant being shot. He was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The statement also noted that a civilian was injured during the shooting, but no injuries were reported among the officials.
As of now, authorities have not disclosed the identity of the assailant or the motive behind the attack. No official information has been provided regarding the condition of the injured bystander.
The Secret Service confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and further details will be shared later. Multiple agencies, including the FBI, Metropolitan Police Department, and National Guard, responded to the scene, while roads surrounding the White House were closed for several hours.
