Rajasthan Royals Secure Playoff Spot with Victory Over Mumbai Indians

Mumbai, May 24: Rajasthan Royals (RR) have clinched a spot in the playoffs of IPL 2026. On Sunday at Wankhede Stadium, RR defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 30 runs, securing the fourth position in the standings. The standout performer for RR was Jofra Archer, who played a pivotal role with both bat and ball, earning the Player of the Match award for his efforts.

After the match, Archer reflected, “This isn’t my best season. I have bowled better in the past. My focus is always on delivering the ball in the right areas, even if the results don’t always show it. I’m glad I succeeded when the team needed it most.”

When asked about taking wickets during the powerplay, he commented, “If a good ball gets hit for a four, it’s not a problem, as the process is what matters. I was bowling slower balls in the early matches, but the coach advised me to trust my pace bowling.”

On his explosive batting, Archer noted, “Due to the impact player rules, opportunities are limited, but I consider myself an all-rounder.” He also expressed satisfaction with his fitness.

In RR’s victory, Archer made significant contributions both with the bat and ball. He scored 32 runs off 15 balls, hitting three sixes and one four. Subsequently, he took three wickets for just 17 runs in four overs.

Looking at the match details, Rajasthan Royals batted first after losing the toss, scoring 205 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Dhruv Jurel contributed 38 runs, while Archer added 32, Dasun Shanaka scored 29, Yashasvi Jaiswal made 27, Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 19, and Donovan Ferreira chipped in with 18 runs.
