Chinese Vice Premier Addresses APEC Trade Ministers Meeting

Beijing, May 24: Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng delivered a speech at the 32nd meeting of APEC trade ministers held on May 23 in Suzhou, eastern China.

He emphasized that unprecedented changes are occurring rapidly. He stated that APEC member countries can only achieve mutual prosperity through respect, trust, cooperation, and shared success. This approach is essential for realizing open, high-quality, balanced, and secure development.

China is prepared to strengthen dialogue in emerging sectors, support reforms in the World Trade Organization, and promote practical and flexible regional economic integration. These efforts aim to inject positive energy into economic development in the Asia-Pacific region and globally, fueled by new achievements in Chinese modernization.

During the meeting, He Lifeng also engaged in discussions with WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Supachai Panitchpakdi.
