Tribal Culture Summit Celebrates 150th Birth Anniversary of Birsa Munda

New Delhi, May 24: In honor of the 150th birth anniversary of ‘Dharti Abba’ Lord Birsa Munda, the Tribal Security Forum organized a ‘Tribal Culture Summit’ at the Red Fort grounds. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari attended the event, emphasizing the importance of tribal communities in India’s mainstream society.

During his address, Tiwari stated, “Today, the Red Fort represents the completeness of democracy. This is an opportunity for India. I stand here as a representative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President.” He expressed pride in the gathering, noting that tribal brothers and sisters from every corner of the country, including Arunachal Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, have come together. “They are part of the mainstream, and we want to sit with them to plan for a better future,” he added.

Participants shared their experiences at the summit. One attendee remarked on the significant presence of tribal communities from across Delhi. “There are around 750 tribal communities in India, and we can see over 550 represented here. It feels like a ‘mini India’ has gathered today. We are showcasing the unique cultures, traditions, attire, dialects, languages, instruments, and lifestyles of various tribal communities,” they noted.

Another participant highlighted the unity among attendees from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, stating, “We have come together with the same spirit, chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.”

One participant praised the event, mentioning the presence of a team of at least 50 women. “We initially wondered how to host our guests. We decided to welcome them with tilak from the temple, and they were very pleased,” she shared.

A woman expressed her joy in attending the summit, stating, “We feel very happy to be here. We will later visit the Red Fort, but we have come with a special purpose: to support and protect the tribal community and raise the issues they face.”

Another participant remarked, “We are here to pay tribute to Birsa Munda at this tribal summit. The goal is to unite our tribal communities and establish dialogue with people from various regions and languages. This experience is incredibly pleasant, and the arrangements are commendable.”

One woman, dressed in traditional attire from Uttarakhand, shared her sentiments, saying, “Today is a very auspicious day for us. We thought of how to serve our guests, embodying the spirit of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’. I have never witnessed such an event in my life.”
