New Delhi, May 18: Indian mountaineer Shraddha Gupta is currently on an expedition to Mount Everest. This follows her successful ascent of Manaslu, the eighth highest mountain in the world, standing at 8,163 meters. This achievement marks another significant milestone in her rapidly advancing mountaineering career.
On September 26, 2025, at 8:06 AM, Shraddha reached the summit of Manaslu alongside Nirmal Purja’s elite expedition team and renowned guide Tenji Sherpa. Manaslu is one of the 14 famous peaks over 8,000 meters, located in the extremely high-altitude “death zone,” where oxygen levels are critically low and conditions for climbing are incredibly challenging.
Shraddha’s successful ascent of Manaslu reflects her determination, discipline, and continuous progress from trekking and hiking to serious high-altitude climbing. In just three years, she has completed the Everest Base Camp trek and scaled three of the seven summits: Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Elbrus, and Aconcagua.
During this period, Gupta has transitioned from casual hiking to standing atop some of the highest points on Earth. Her successful climb of Manaslu has marked her first achievement at an altitude of 8,000 meters, establishing her as one of the rising names in Indian mountaineering.
As Shraddha now attempts to climb the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, her journey continues to inspire both aspiring climbers and working professionals, showcasing how determination and passion can redefine limits.
Residing in Dubai, Shraddha leads corporate business for DBS Bank in the Middle East. She reignited her passion for hiking in the UAE after the pandemic and began her high-altitude climbing journey just three years ago.
Shraddha Gupta’s achievement is also a story of starting late and progressing rapidly. Unlike many climbers who begin training at a young age, Gupta only took up mountaineering after the COVID pandemic.
