New Delhi, May 19: BJP spokesperson Shah Nawaz Hussain addressed several pressing issues, including rising fuel prices, claims of a Naxal-free India, and the summons issued to Congress leader Randeep Surjewala by Assam police. He defended the government’s stance on these matters.
Regarding the increase in fuel prices, Hussain emphasized that the world is currently grappling with a global crisis. He pointed out that the closure of the Hormuz Strait has disrupted the supply of oil, diesel, and gas, leading to widespread difficulties. He described the statements from Congress leaders as unfortunate, noting that fuel prices have surged by 44%, 45%, and even 60% in various countries, while India has imposed the least burden on its citizens.
On the claims made by Home Minister Amit Shah about a Naxal-free India, Hussain stated that the entire nation should commend Shah for fulfilling his promise to eradicate Naxalism within the stipulated timeframe. He asserted that a well-planned strategy has successfully led to a Naxal-free environment, bringing joy across the country.
Concerning the alleged passport controversy involving Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife, Rinki Bhuiyan Sarma, he commented on the summons sent to Surjewala. He stated that if someone makes false statements, the concerned party has the right to defend their reputation. It is natural for those who spread misinformation to receive notices.
Hussain also addressed the incidents of stone-pelting in West Bengal, asserting that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting such acts. He assured that Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari will not tolerate such behavior. He declared that the rule of law prevails in West Bengal, and the state will operate according to legal standards. Any attempts to disrupt the law will be met with appropriate action.
