Demand for Tax-Free Status for Raja Shivaji Film Grows as Ambadas Danve Writes to CM Fadnavis

Mumbai, May 5: Senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLC Ambadas Danve has urged the Maharashtra government to declare the film ‘Raja Shivaji’ tax-free across the state. He has formally written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis regarding this request.

The film ‘Raja Shivaji’ is based on the life, struggles, and achievements of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Granting tax-free status to the film would not only promote it but also invigorate the ideology and history of Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra.

Danve emphasized that this film, which portrays the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, serves as more than just entertainment; it is a vital medium for imparting the values of self-rule to the younger generation. By making the film tax-free, more students, youth, and the general public would have the opportunity to view it.

In his letter, Danve stated that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the backbone of Maharashtra’s and the entire country’s cultural and historical identity. The ‘Hindavi Swarajya’ established by Maharaj was not merely a state but an ideal governance system based on high values such as justice, equality, women’s safety, farmers’ protection, and secularism.

He expressed that today’s youth should witness the visionary leadership, unparalleled courage, strategy, and inspiring story of self-rule through this film. This would enable the new generation to connect with Maharaj’s ideals.

Danve stressed that if the film is made tax-free, ticket prices would decrease, allowing school and college students and young people to watch it easily. He described it as not just a film but a campaign for cultural and historical awareness. The government should fully support this film to popularize the life and values established by Shivaji Maharaj.

Danve expressed hope that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would consider this request positively and declare the film tax-free.
