Mumbai, May 23: Every day, thousands of young aspirants flock to Mumbai, chasing their dreams in the film industry. Unfortunately, this dream is often exploited by fraudsters. With the rise of social media, the prevalence of fake casting calls and bogus auditions is rapidly increasing.
Recently, a new case has emerged where the renowned production company Roy Kapoor Films has taken the initiative to alert the public. On Friday, the company posted on its Instagram account, revealing that an individual named Vineet Lalita Pandey is spreading false casting information related to their upcoming film. The company clarified that this person is no longer associated with them.
The post stated that Vineet Pandey was previously connected to the company as a casting director, but his services were terminated a long time ago. Despite this, he continues to misuse the company’s name to mislead people.
In the post, the company emphasized, “Vineet Pandey is not authorized to represent any of our films or projects. All activities conducted by him are entirely fraudulent. Auditions taken through him are neither being reviewed by producers nor checked by any OTT platform. Currently, we are not conducting any auditions in Uttar Pradesh.”
Along with the post, the company shared several images, including screenshots of the alleged fake casting calls. These posts solicited individuals to reach out under the guise of film and audition information. By sharing these images, the company aimed to illustrate how fake auditions are proliferating through social media.
Roy Kapoor Films further stated, “If we require artists for any film in the future, information will only be provided through our official accounts. People should not trust unknown individuals, fraudulent messages, or social media posts.”
The company urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid paying any fees or money.
