CNG Prices Rise in New Delhi, Now at ₹81.09 per Kilogram

New Delhi, May 23: The retail price of compressed natural gas (CNG) in the national capital increased by ₹1 per kilogram on Saturday. This marks the third price adjustment in just ten days.

According to Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the price of CNG in New Delhi has risen from ₹80.09 to ₹81.09 per kilogram.

In neighboring areas, the price of CNG has also surged, reaching ₹89.70 per kilogram in Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, while in Gurugram, it stands at ₹86.12 per kilogram.

Previously, on May 15, the price of CNG was increased by ₹2 per kilogram, followed by another rise of ₹1 per kilogram on May 17.

The continuous increase in CNG prices is expected to impact transport operators and passengers using gas-powered vehicles, potentially raising domestic expenses and logistics costs.

Meanwhile, government oil marketing companies have also raised petrol and diesel prices on Saturday, marking the third increase in fuel prices within ten days.

Petrol prices have gone up by ₹0.87 per liter, while diesel prices have risen by ₹0.91 per liter. This hike is attributed to the rising global crude oil prices and ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, affecting the international energy market.

In New Delhi, petrol prices have climbed from ₹98.64 to ₹99.51 per liter, and diesel has increased from ₹91.58 to ₹92.49 per liter. Reports indicate that this increase has been uniformly implemented across several cities nationwide.

In Kolkata, petrol now costs ₹110.64 per liter, while diesel is at ₹97.02 per liter. In Mumbai, petrol is priced at ₹108.49 per liter, and diesel at ₹95.02 per liter.

In response to criticism over rising fuel prices, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated earlier this month that despite a significant surge in global crude oil prices, India has managed to limit increases in petrol and diesel prices.
