New Delhi, May 23: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, reached out to the family of Pradeep Meghwal, a student from Rajasthan’s Sikar, who reportedly took his own life following the NEET paper leak. During a phone conversation, Gandhi assured the grieving family of his support and commitment to seeking justice.
The Congress party shared a video of Gandhi’s conversation with the victim’s family on social media. They posted on ‘X’, stating, “After the NEET paper leak, Pradeep Meghwal from Sikar, Rajasthan, committed suicide. Now, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has spoken to the victim’s family and assured them of all possible assistance.”
The Congress further noted, “Pradeep Meghwal’s family had taken loans amounting to lakhs for his education. He had high hopes for selection, but the paper leak mafia shattered his dreams. The family demands strict punishment for those responsible for the paper leak and seeks justice. The Congress party stands firmly with the victim’s family, and we will ensure they receive justice. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must resign immediately for this failure.”
Gandhi spoke to the family through Vinod Jakhar, the president of the NSUI, who had visited their home. Jakhar expressed gratitude to Gandhi, stating, “We thank Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi for standing with students against the NEET paper leak from day one. Families who lost their children due to the leak are with him in this time of sorrow. We assure that the NSUI will fight vigorously against paper leaks across the country.”
