New Delhi, May 23: In the 67th match of IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 55 runs. Ishan Kishan was the star of the match, scoring a powerful 79 runs. His performance has propelled him into the top five of the Orange Cap race.
This season, Ishan Kishan has amassed 569 runs at a strike rate of 178 across 14 matches, placing him fifth among the highest run-scorers in IPL 2026. The Orange Cap is currently held by Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans, who has scored 638 runs at a strike rate of 157 in 14 matches.
Shubman Gill ranks second with 616 runs from 13 matches. Meanwhile, SRH’s wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen, who scored a brisk 51 runs off 24 balls against RCB, is third with 606 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 15-year-old prodigy, holds the fourth spot with 579 runs from 13 matches.
The Purple Cap is adorned by RCB’s fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has taken 24 wickets in 14 matches. Kagiso Rabada from Gujarat Titans also has 24 wickets, placing him second. Anshul Kamboj from Chennai Super Kings ranks third with 21 wickets, while Rashid Khan has claimed 19 wickets, putting him fourth. SRH’s fast bowler Ishan Malinga also has 19 wickets, occupying the fifth position.
In the match held at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, SRH batted first, scoring 255 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, and Ishan Kishan all contributed with half-centuries. In pursuit of 256 runs, RCB managed only 200 runs, losing 4 wickets. Captain Rajat Patidar was the top scorer for RCB with 56 runs, while Venkatesh Iyer added 44 runs. Despite the defeat against SRH, RCB remains at the top of the points table and has secured a spot in the first qualifier.
