Chhattisgarh Tragedy: Brother and Sister-in-Law Accused of Murder Over Land Dispute

Surajpur, May 11: A tragic incident in Chhattisgarh has highlighted the devastating impact of greed over land. In a shocking turn of events, a man was allegedly murdered by his elder brother and sister-in-law over a land dispute.

The incident took place in the Chandramedha village of the Chendra Chowki area. The accused, Dharmadev alias Dharmjeet Toppo, along with his wife Sushma, reportedly attacked his younger brother, Mahendra Toppo, with a brick, leaving him severely injured. The attack resulted in Mahendra sustaining critical injuries to his head, face, and back.

Following the assault, Mahendra was rushed to a local hospital. Initially, he was referred to the Surajpur District Hospital due to the severity of his condition. However, his health continued to deteriorate, leading to a transfer to Ambikapur. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, Mahendra’s condition did not improve, and he was ultimately brought back home, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Surajpur SDOP Abhishek Paikara confirmed that an FIR has been filed in the case. Both the accused brother and sister-in-law have been arrested and are currently in custody. The police are conducting a thorough investigation to ensure that justice is served.
