Odisha Class 12 Results Announced with 85.85% Pass Rate

Bhubaneswar, May 20: The School and Mass Education Minister, Nityanand Gond, announced the results of the Class 12 examinations conducted by the Odisha Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on Wednesday.

During a press conference held at the CHSE office in Odisha, the minister revealed the results for Science, Arts, Commerce, and Vocational subjects. This year, the overall pass percentage stood at 85.85%.

The pass percentages for different streams were as follows: 88.82% in Science, 84.50% in Arts, 88.07% in Commerce, and 77.62% in Vocational Education.

In a notable announcement, Minister Nityanand Gond stated that for the first time, students who pass in all subjects will be allowed to sit for improvement exams in one subject to enhance their scores. This initiative aims to provide students with a valuable opportunity to improve their grades.

The minister expressed satisfaction with the smooth and transparent conduct of the examinations across the state, noting that there were no significant irregularities or disruptions reported.

According to official data, a total of 398,090 students appeared for the examinations this year, including both regular and ex-regular candidates. Out of these, 341,781 students successfully passed. In the Arts stream, 214,738 students passed, while in Science, 111,004 students, in Commerce, 21,393 students, and in Vocational Education, 4,546 students achieved passing marks.

In the Arts stream, Sambalpur district recorded the highest pass percentage at 89.48%, while Nabarangpur district had the lowest at 77.14%. Similarly, in the Science stream, Balasore district achieved the highest pass percentage at 96.63%, while Koraput district recorded the lowest at 77.14%. Baudh district achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate, while Balangir had the lowest pass percentage in Commerce at 77.25%.

Additionally, Nabarangpur district recorded the highest overall pass percentage at 100%, while Malkangiri had the lowest pass percentage in Vocational Education at 55.22%.
