Bhopal, May 20: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has likened the role of village employment assistants to that of Hanuman in the context of rural development. Speaking at the state-level conference for village employment assistants held at Jamburi Maidan in Bhopal, the Chief Minister emphasized their crucial role in promoting rural development and self-reliance in villages.
He stated that employment assistants serve as the backbone of development in the state’s gram panchayats. They play a vital role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Digital India. Employment assistants are the driving force behind this significant initiative.
Yadav quoted Mahatma Gandhi, who believed that the soul of India resides in its villages. He highlighted Gandhi’s dream of Gram Swaraj and noted that Prime Minister Modi has popularized the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, which ensures that funds reach beneficiaries effectively. The success of this system is attributed to the efforts of employment assistants and panchayat secretaries.
The Chief Minister further stated that Prime Minister Modi prioritizes the welfare of women, farmers, youth, and the poor. The contributions of village assistants are evident in the development of these groups. They utilize their skills and intelligence to implement key government schemes, such as the Developed India Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission, and to address various public issues.
