BJP Aims to Contest All 28 Seats in Upcoming TTAADC Elections, Says CM Manik Saha

Agartala, March 15: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to contest all 28 seats in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections. He emphasized that while the party aims to strengthen its position, it will continue to adhere to its alliance politics.

Speaking at a public rally in Dhumachhara, Saha expressed the BJP’s commitment to working alongside its coalition partners while also seeking to enhance its influence in the council elections.

“The BJP does not dismiss its allies. Whether we can meet all their expectations will depend on the circumstances. We follow the principles of coalition politics because we do not want to exclude anyone, but our goal is to win all 28 seats,” he stated.

During the event, the Chief Minister welcomed 587 voters from 147 families into the BJP. “Today is a joyous day for us. 587 voters from 147 families are joining the BJP. You have made the right decision at the right time,” he remarked.

Saha asserted that the development of both the country and the state is not possible without the BJP. He noted that the new members would strengthen the party and contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘New India’ and ‘New Tripura.’

The Chief Minister criticized the current administration of the TTAADC, alleging that previous governments only expressed sympathy towards tribal communities without delivering real development. He also accused the council administration of corruption and irregularities.

He affirmed that both the state government and the central Modi government are committed to transparent governance. “Prime Minister Modi has made it clear that he will neither engage in corruption nor allow it. Under his leadership, both the central and Tripura governments are operating with transparency,” he stated.

Saha mentioned that there are BJP or BJP-led governments in nearly 20-21 states across the country, and people recognize that progress is not possible without Modi’s leadership.

Regarding law and order, he noted significant improvements in Tripura compared to the past. According to statistics, the state ranks third from the bottom in crime rates among 28 states, with an approximately 8.2% reduction in crime over the last 20 years.

He also pointed out that some political groups are attempting to create communal divisions through slogans like “Thansa-Thansa.” He explained, “For us, ‘Thansa’ means togetherness, where different castes, tribes, and minorities unite to build a beautiful Tripura.”

Saha concluded by stating that the BJP government is working in line with Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” emphasizing that development is only possible when everyone works together.
