Joint Operation After Intelligence on Terrorist Movement

Security agencies had received specific intelligence inputs regarding the presence of three terrorists in Lidwas, Srinagar. Acting swiftly, the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF jointly launched Operation Mahadev. After a prolonged encounter, all three militants were killed.

According to a statement issued by the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, “Three terrorists have been neutralised amid heavy exchange of fire. The operation is still ongoing.”

Media reports citing sources revealed that two days earlier, suspicious communications were intercepted in the Dachigam forest area, prompting the launch of the operation.
