
Beijing, May 20: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Liberia’s Foreign Minister Sarah Beysolow Nyanti on May 19 in Beijing.
Wang Yi emphasized that supporting Africa’s development is a steadfast and ongoing policy of China. He noted the implementation of a zero-tariff policy for all African nations that have established diplomatic relations with China, highlighting that Liberia is among the first beneficiaries. China welcomes Liberia’s signing to become a member of the international mediation organization. Both China and Liberia represent the Global South and are committed to upholding the objectives and principles of the UN Charter.
Nyanti reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to the One China principle. She expressed Liberia’s desire to learn from China’s poverty alleviation experiences and highly values the concept of a shared future for humanity, along with various global initiatives.
