Encounter in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum: One Naxalite Killed, SLR Rifle Recovered

West Singhbhum, (Kiran News). Security forces in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum (Chaibasa) district engaged in an encounter with Naxalites in the Goilkera police station area’s Sauta region on Tuesday. According to sources, one Naxalite was killed during the operation, and an SLR rifle was recovered from the site.

Inspector General (Operations) Dr. Michael Raj confirmed that the encounter is ongoing in Goilkera, with reports of Naxalite casualties. A search operation is currently in progress.

Police officials said that security forces have been conducting continuous search operations in Naxal-affected areas of the district. On Tuesday morning, Naxalites opened fire upon spotting police personnel near the forested hilly area of Sauta. CRPF and Jharkhand Police personnel retaliated, resulting in the death of one Naxalite. The body has been recovered, and combing operations are underway in the region.
