The weather department predicts that on Thursday evening, moderate thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, are likely in Shyopur Kalna, Kuno National Park, and the southern parts of Morena district.
Additionally, light thunderstorms with lightning are expected in southern regions of Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Pench, and Seoni districts, as well as in the western parts of Gwalior and northern areas of Shivpuri and Guna districts.
Maximum temperatures have shown little change but remain significantly below average in several divisions. In Gwalior and Rewa districts, temperatures were recorded as much as 5.8 degrees Celsius lower than normal, while Bhopal, Indore, and Jabalpur divisions saw temperatures 1.6 to 2.9 degrees below average.
Minimum temperatures also experienced a decline. In Bhopal, temperatures were recorded at 5.3 degrees below normal. According to the weather bulletin released on Thursday, the lowest minimum temperature was noted at 16.1 degrees Celsius in Amarkantak, while Shyopur recorded the highest minimum temperature at 26.2 degrees Celsius.

Rain and gusty winds are anticipated in these areas on Thursday. The department attributes these turbulent weather conditions to a combination of western disturbances, cyclonic circulation, and a trough line. Meanwhile, many other districts continue to experience oppressive heat.
Temperatures in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, and Jabalpur, among 44 districts, are expected to rise to 42-43 degrees Celsius. Notably, Niwari, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Narmadapuram, Ratlam, Neemuch, and Mandsaur districts are forecasted to see a rapid increase in temperatures.
Meteorologists have warned that while thunderstorms and light rain may persist in northern and eastern districts over the next two days, a significant rise in heat intensity is expected from May 9 and 10.
A new weather system is anticipated to become active from May 10, with its effects likely to become more pronounced in the following two days. Residents are advised to exercise caution, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure outdoors during the hottest hours of the day, as mixed weather patterns of thunderstorms and rising heat may affect various regions of the state.
