Delhi Government Takes Action Following Malviya Nagar Fire Incident

New Delhi, June 5: In response to the devastating fire incident in Malviya Nagar, the Delhi government is poised to take significant action. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will chair an important meeting on Friday to discuss measures aimed at preventing such tragic events in the future and effectively curbing illegal constructions in the capital.

The government has made it clear that no building owner, official, or any other responsible party will be spared for their role in the Malviya Nagar fire. A thorough investigation will be conducted to establish accountability, and strict action will be taken against the guilty.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that ensuring the safety of Delhi residents requires a comprehensive approach. This includes adherence to safety standards, effective monitoring systems, and accountable administrative mechanisms. She stated that robust measures will be implemented to prevent future tragedies and enhance the safety of Delhi.

The meeting, set to take place at the Delhi Secretariat, will include senior officials from the Delhi Police, Revenue Department, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Fire Service, Delhi Jal Board, and other relevant departments.

Gupta noted that any deficiencies or negligence related to the horrific fire at the guest house in Malviya Nagar will be thoroughly investigated. Furthermore, any institution violating fire safety regulations and building codes will face consequences.

She also mentioned that she is gathering detailed information from various departments regarding this matter, along with identifying the causes of the incident and the responsibilities of the involved departments and officials.

Gupta pointed out that corruption and negligence in some departments have led to unnecessary difficulties for the government. It is now time to implement strict and effective measures to prevent such incidents, ensuring the safety of lives and property, and establishing Delhi as a secure capital.
