It is believed to be one of the 108 Siddh Peeths, a highly sacred Shakti Peeth. Situated at an altitude of approximately 3000-5500 feet above sea level, this temple is said to be the site where the navel of Goddess Sati fell. It is believed that every sincere wish made here is fulfilled.
Devotees tie a thread on the chunari as a symbol of their wishes. After visiting Purnagiri, many also go to the nearby Siddh Baba Temple, as it is considered essential for completing the pilgrimage. Close to this temple is Buram Dev Mandi, which is also quite popular among tourists.
