
New Delhi, May 30: U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Diplomacy and Public Affairs, Sara B. Rogers, has arrived in India. During her visit, she toured the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra. Additionally, she participated in an event at IIT Delhi, where U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gore was also present.
On social media platform X, Deputy Secretary Rogers expressed, “I couldn’t have asked for a better host than Sergio Gore on my first trip to India. Experiencing the perfection and symmetry of the Taj Mahal is essential. The energy of the growing population and IIT Delhi graduates is equally inspiring. I will never forget this visit. Thanks to the entire U.S. Embassy team.”
Ambassador Gore welcomed Rogers on her inaugural visit to the region, stating, “Our discussions in New Delhi focused on how public diplomacy, strategic communication, and connections among people can enhance the U.S.-India partnership in innovation, economic opportunities, and regional security.”
Regarding the event at IIT Delhi, Gore noted, “Under the TRUST initiative, the U.S.-India tech partnership is yielding positive results. At IIT Delhi, I emphasized our strong bilateral tech ties and opportunities for deeper collaboration on strategic technologies. We are turning the shared vision of President Trump and Prime Minister Modi into reality: building the 21st century through the strength of the U.S.-India partnership.”
According to information shared by the U.S. Department, Sara Rogers is on a tour of India, Nepal, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan from May 27 to June 10, 2026. This marks her first visit to India.
In a related note, Tiffany Trump, daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, arrived in Agra with her husband for a private visit to see the Taj Mahal. During her trip, she also met with Ambassador Gore. Gore shared photos of their meeting, welcoming her to India.
