Lucknow, May 31: Ravidas Mehrotra, a legislator from the Samajwadi Party, has raised significant questions regarding various political and national issues, directing criticism towards the central government. He addressed topics ranging from infiltration in West Bengal to the political landscape in Karnataka and the NEET paper leak controversy.
Regarding the establishment of holding points to curb infiltration in West Bengal, Mehrotra stated that the central government and the Union Home Minister are responsible for any infiltrators that have entered the state.
He emphasized that while new measures are being introduced to stop infiltration, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is attempting to divert public attention from real issues. According to him, instead of addressing crucial questions that concern the public, such matters are being given undue prominence.
On the political situation in Karnataka, the SP legislator noted that the Congress legislative party has chosen D.K. Shivakumar as its leader, making him the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. He described this as an internal decision of the Congress party, indicating that they have settled on their leadership.
Welcoming the Supreme Court’s remarks on the NEET exam and the paper leak controversy, Mehrotra stated that the court has clearly indicated the need to identify those responsible for the incident. He asserted that transparency and accountability in the examination system are vital, and strict action should be taken against those involved in paper leak cases.
Mehrotra praised the Supreme Court’s order, which called for accountability in disputes related to examinations and paper leaks. He insisted that any negligence in matters concerning students’ futures should not be tolerated, and those at fault must be brought to justice.
