BJP Leaders Link Attack on Abhishek Banerjee to Newtons Third Law and Karma

New Delhi, May 31: Political rhetoric has intensified following the attack on Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee in West Bengal. Several leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have reacted to the incident, attributing it to rising public anger in the state, while also denying any support for violence.

BJP MLA Umesh Rai described the incident as unfortunate, referencing Newton’s third law, which states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. He noted that over the past 15 years, there have been numerous incidents involving opposition leaders and workers, including assaults, displays of black flags, insults, and chants of “Go Back.” He emphasized that senior TMC leaders have played a role in fostering this political culture. Rai stated that the current circumstances have changed, and the public is now expressing their discontent based on past experiences.

BJP MLA Sanjay Singh remarked that whether one calls it an attack or a display of public anger, it reflects the local populace’s frustration. However, he clarified that such incidents are condemnable, and the BJP does not endorse any form of violence.

BJP MP Rahul Sinha pointed out that there is significant public outrage against TMC leaders. He claimed that when former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appeared in court, people and lawyers shouted “Thief! Thief!” at her.

Sinha noted that similar incidents are now occurring with Abhishek Banerjee, who has faced eggs and slippers being thrown at him. This demonstrates the extent of public anger towards TMC leadership.

BJP leader and spokesperson Kiyaa Ghosh stated that the people of West Bengal have witnessed various atrocities under TMC rule over the past 15 years, and they are now responding to that. She described it as the fruit of karma. Ghosh referenced the Abhaya case, stating that women felt there was no guarantee of their honor and safety in the state, which led them to take to the streets. She also mentioned that 26,000 teachers are currently protesting for their demands.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma in Lucknow asserted that taking the law into one’s own hands is not justified, regardless of someone’s tyranny. He reiterated that the BJP does not support any form of violence. However, he accused the TMC regime of committing atrocities against common people, mothers, and sisters, resulting in loss of life. This has contributed to rising public discontent, but violence is not the solution.
