Jaipur, May 31: Hanuman Beniwal, the national president of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) and MP from Nagaur, has criticized BJP state president Madan Rathore for calling for his social boycott.
Beniwal stated that he is consulting legal experts from the High Court and Supreme Court, warning that legal action could be initiated against Rathore for his remarks.
Addressing the media, Beniwal emphasized that India operates under a constitutional and legal framework, which prohibits khap panchayats from enforcing social boycotts. He argued that the call for social boycott by the ruling party’s state president violates legal and democratic boundaries.
He accused the public of voting for the BJP due to dissatisfaction stemming from issues like paper leaks, rising crime, and alleged mafia activities during the previous Congress government. He claimed that the BJP changed its stance immediately after coming to power.
Referencing recent events, Beniwal questioned the BJP’s silence regarding the death of nearly 500 cows in Jaisalmer, noting that the party had previously organized statewide protests over similar issues while in opposition.
Beniwal reminded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised strict action against the ‘paper leak mafia’ before the elections. However, he alleged that the state government has failed to arrest any major kingpin involved in such rackets after two and a half years in power.
Although the RLP currently has no MLAs in the assembly, Beniwal asserted that the party has established itself as a ‘third political force’ in Rajasthan and continues to raise public issues across the state.
In response to Rathore’s comments, Beniwal reiterated that he is consulting legal experts and indicated that further legal action may be forthcoming.
