
Patna, May 31: A tragic motorcycle accident in Madhubani district, Bihar, resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left two others critically injured on Saturday. The collision occurred near Ganesh Chowk in the Padma Panchayat area of the Ladanian police station jurisdiction.
The devastating incident has cast a pall of grief over the region, deeply affecting the families involved. According to Anup Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Ladanian, the accident happened when two motorcycles, traveling at high speeds, collided head-on near Ganesh Chowk.
The impact was so severe that all three riders died at the scene. One of the deceased has been identified as Sachin Kumar Kamat, who was heading from Kumar Khat to Jaynagar at the time of the accident.
The second motorcycle was occupied by Rajan Nadaf and his wife, Roksana Khatun. Reports indicate they were en route to their in-laws’ home in Ladanian from Kadwahi village in the Basopatti block when the fatal crash occurred.
The injured individuals were promptly transported to the sub-divisional hospital, where doctors, after initial treatment, referred them to Darbhanga due to their critical condition. The injured have been identified as Sujit Kumar Kamat, son of Shri Dev Kamat, a resident of Khutouna, and 18-year-old Karan Kumar from Ramakht.
Local residents rushed to the scene immediately after the accident and informed the police. A team from Ladanian police station arrived quickly and initiated necessary actions.
In an unexpected turn of events, the families of the deceased have mutually agreed not to pursue legal action. The victims’ fathers submitted a written request to the police, asking that no FIR be filed and that post-mortem examinations of the bodies be avoided.
Following the completion of mandatory legal formalities and respecting the wishes of the families, the police handed over the bodies for final rites.
This incident has left the local community in shock, with residents mourning the loss of three lives in a single accident. The tragedy has also reignited concerns about road safety and reckless driving on rural roads in the area.
