New Delhi, May 31: The village of Baderpalli, nestled among the dense forests and rugged hills of Dantewada, is witnessing a remarkable transformation. Once isolated due to Naxalite influence and challenging geography, this village is now receiving consistent visits from health department teams.
Under the “Chief Minister‘s Healthy Bastar Campaign,” health officials trekked 13 kilometers along a difficult mountain path to set up a health camp in Baderpalli. The team, navigating through forests and rocky trails, provided essential health services to the villagers.
During the health camp, 227 villagers underwent health screenings. Tests were conducted for malaria, sickle cell disease, hemoglobin levels, diabetes, and hypertension. Patients in need received immediate treatment and free medications on-site.
Special attention was given to the health of women and children. A high-risk pregnant woman was referred to the district hospital for better care and safe delivery. Additionally, 12 patients suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes were sent to higher health centers for further treatment.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai stated that the government is committed to enhancing healthcare access in remote Bastar. He emphasized that the “Chief Minister’s Healthy Bastar Campaign” is ensuring that villagers receive treatment and essential health services close to home.
The health department team also educated villagers about the Ayushman Bharat scheme, nutrition, sanitation, and safe motherhood. The campaign aims not only to deliver health services to remote areas but also to raise health awareness among the rural population.
Local residents noted that accessing health services in such villages was once deemed extremely difficult. However, with regular camps and administrative outreach, trust among the people is growing. Areas of Bastar, once associated with fear and underdevelopment, are now emerging as symbols of progress and public service.
