Cyclone Ditwah Alert Issued for 5 States After Senyar

After Cyclone Senyar, the effects of Cyclone Ditwah have now begun to show. The low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal has transformed into a cyclonic storm. The weather department has issued heavy rainfall alerts for five states.

The impact of ‘Senyar’ has not yet ended, and another cyclonic storm ‘Ditwah’ has started wreaking havoc in South India. The weather department has issued an alert for a new storm in the Bay of Bengal. The effects of both storms are being witnessed in India. According to weather scientists, Cyclone Ditwah is expected to cause devastation in South Indian states. Due to these storms, the weather in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh has already deteriorated. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal on Thursday has now converted into a cyclonic storm.

Pre-cyclone Alert Issued

The weather department states that Cyclone Ditwah could cause significant devastation. Therefore, a pre-cyclone alert has been issued. The coasts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala will experience greater impact. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in These States

Due to Cyclone Ditwah, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in five southern states. Rain is ongoing in several areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Even before the storm hits the coast, light showers have begun in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu.

Duration of Storm Impact

The weather department has stated that the weather in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu will remain poor until November 30. Additionally, light rainfall is possible in some areas of Puducherry and Karaikal. The weather department has cautioned fishermen to stay away from the southwest Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar, Kanyakumari, and the coasts of Tamil Nadu-Puducherry.

According to the weather department, heavy rainfall will occur in parts of Kerala, Mahe, Telangana, and Karnataka. Maximum rainfall is predicted in Karnataka on November 29. Additionally, Telangana will experience heavy rainfall on November 30 and December 1. Along with rainfall in South India, temperatures in North India are likely to continuously drop over the next two to three days. Dense fog may be witnessed in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi during morning hours.
