This warning comes as tensions escalate, with the U.S. highlighting “serious security risks.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a video addressing all American citizens in the region, stating that their safety is the top priority.
Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, Maura Namdar, emphasized that due to these serious security concerns, Americans are advised to use available commercial transport to exit Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen without delay.
An American official confirmed that a 24/7 inter-agency task force has been activated, operating from a special operations center in Washington. The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program allows U.S. embassies and consulates to send real-time security updates and communicate directly with citizens in emergencies.
