Mumbai, May 23: The film industry is abuzz with controversy surrounding the movie “Hai Jawaani To Ishq Hona Hai.” Recently, a dispute between producer Vaastu Bhagnani and Tips Industries owner Ramesh Taurani has escalated, drawing significant media attention and now reaching the courts.
During the film’s trailer launch on Saturday, Ramesh Taurani claimed that their issues had been resolved. However, Vaastu Bhagnani vehemently rejected this assertion, stating that nothing has been settled and the matter is still pending in court.
Bhagnani expressed his frustration, saying, “Just because someone claims in front of cameras that everything is resolved, it does not change the truth. The matter is not over, and the legal process is ongoing. To publicly declare that everything is fine while a case is in court sends the wrong message.”
He further elaborated, “I have remained silent for years out of respect for relationships. I did not want this to reach the media or escalate. But now, I feel that if I do not speak up, my hard work and rights will be overlooked. I will now openly advocate for my rights and for all producers who are often taken lightly.”
The dispute began when Bhagnani filed a lawsuit against Tips Industries and several associated individuals, alleging unauthorized use of creative rights related to his films. His well-known film “Biwi No. 1” is also involved in this controversy.
Bhagnani emphasized that a producer’s creation and effort are their identity, and using it without permission is unacceptable.
On May 23, Bhagnani held an online press conference regarding the issue, stating that this matter is more about principles and ethics than money. The film industry operates on relationships and trust, and when that trust is broken, the pain is greater. A producer invests not just money but also emotions and years of hard work into their films.
Conversely, when asked about the dispute during the trailer launch, Ramesh Taurani insisted that there were no problems and that all issues had been resolved.
