India Set to Become Worlds Largest Defense Exporter in 20-25 Years, Says Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, May 23: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced that India is poised to become the world’s largest defense exporter within the next 20 to 25 years, a journey that he believes cannot be halted. He emphasized that India is currently writing a new golden chapter in self-reliance in the defense sector.

During a two-day event at the Saibaba Dham in Shirdi, Maharashtra, the Defense Minister inaugurated the Nibe Group’s defense manufacturing complex and artillery shell production project. The event was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan.

Rajnath Singh stated that the outcome of future wars will not depend on the number of soldiers a country has, but rather on its modern technology, capabilities, and advanced weaponry. He pointed to the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East as evidence of this shift. Singh also highlighted India’s display of strength during ‘Operation Sindoor.’

He noted that India is rapidly advancing in the defense sector, covering everything from ground to air and space, including artillery shells and satellites. Singh praised the role of private industries, stating that Indian companies are understanding the needs of future warfare. He called for the private sector to further strengthen India’s military capabilities.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis remarked that India is set to play a significant role in establishing peace globally through its strategic power. He emphasized that India has never attacked anyone but has always repelled aggressors.

Fadnavis referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, stating that the defense sector has embraced these concepts robustly, leading to substantial defense exports.

He cited ‘Operation Sindoor’ as an example, noting the precision of the Indian Army’s actions that astonished the world. He claimed that while Pakistan acquired drones with the help of allies, it failed to launch any missiles or drones successfully on Indian soil.

The Chief Minister also announced the development of a defense corridor in Nashik, Pune, Nagpur, and Ahilyanagar, which is in its final stages. He asserted that Maharashtra is already number one in defense production and is set to advance further.

Ganesh Ramesh Nibe, Chairman and Managing Director of the Nibe Group, stated that this moment is historic not only for the Nibe Group but also for India’s self-reliant defense manufacturing. He highlighted that the project will play a crucial role in strengthening national security, creating jobs, and inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators.
