Imran Masood Criticizes Central Government Over Rising Fuel Prices

New Delhi, May 23: Congress MP Imran Masood has launched a strong attack on the central government regarding the rising prices of petrol and diesel. He expressed concerns that the country is gradually succumbing to economic pressure and that the situation could worsen in the near future. Masood emphasized that the government must take this issue seriously, yet no significant meetings or concrete actions have been announced so far. He warned that the economic landscape could become even more challenging in the coming months, placing a heavier burden on the public.

Masood stated, “The shocks will come gradually. A storm is approaching. PM Modi will not be able to stop it. He has pushed the country into an economic recession, and the situation will deteriorate significantly in the next month or two. If they do not think or act now, the people of this country will pay a heavy price.”

In response to Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s remarks about preparing for 400 seats, Masood noted that the number of seats is secondary; winning is what truly matters. He explained that each party in an alliance formulates its strategy based on the prevailing circumstances, and no party can predict in advance how many seats they will win or lose, as this depends on public sentiment. He reiterated that the primary goal is to achieve victory, which will ultimately determine the number of seats.

Masood also highlighted the significant role of Rahul Gandhi in the current political climate, asserting that the public views him as the voice of the poor and trusts him.

Meanwhile, when questioned about the statement made by UP Congress President Ajay Rai regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the subsequent FIR filed, Masood remarked that he had not fully heard the statement but noted that filing an FIR has become a routine administrative process. He quipped that FIRs have become a daily task for them, while they do not retaliate with legal actions despite facing insults.

On the other hand, Samajwadi Party MP Rajiv Rai also commented on the issue, stating, “We can disagree with the Prime Minister and his views, but I do not support such remarks. These statements undermine the language and moral standards of the state.”
