Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi Condemns Stone-Pelting Incident in Bihar

Gaya, May 23: Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has condemned the stone-pelting incident that occurred during his event near the village of Siswar in Bihar. He stated that such occurrences are unacceptable and that an investigation is underway.

Speaking to reporters, Manjhi remarked, “We have seen that sometimes such incidents happen in society. As for the reasons behind it, the police are investigating and doing their job. We do not have much to say about this. May God grant them wisdom.”

The stone-pelting incident took place during a program in the Sant Thomas English School complex in the Khijarsarai block of Gaya district on Friday evening. At the time, the minister was addressing the crowd from the stage. Fortunately, the stones did not hit him directly, and he narrowly escaped injury; however, one of his security personnel sustained injuries.

According to reports, Manjhi was the chief guest at the event, where he was welcomed and honored upon his arrival. Suddenly, stones and pebbles were thrown into the gathering, creating a moment of chaos. Security personnel quickly managed the situation and maintained control of the event.

In addition, Manjhi responded to the ongoing debate in Bihar politics regarding crime and caste. He suggested that his statements may have been misrepresented. He emphasized that criminals do not belong to any specific caste and that individuals from all communities can commit crimes.

Manjhi asserted that strict action must be taken against crime, stating that criminals must either abandon their criminal activities or leave Bihar. He reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order, asserting that caste should not be a factor in this matter.

He also addressed accusations from Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, asserting that it is incorrect to claim that the government is targeting any particular caste. He clarified that the government is taking action against crime, not against any specific community.
