Jaipur, August 4 – Rajasthan Roadways is all set to roll out a fleet of 12 brand-new BS-6 compliant Volvo super-luxury buses from Wednesday, August 5. These state-of-the-art, air-conditioned coaches are equipped with advanced technology and will replace the existing Scania buses on major routes while also launching new services.

Out of the 12 new buses, 9 will operate on the Jaipur–Delhi route, 2 on the Jaipur–Kainchi Dham route, and 1 on the Jaipur–Jodhpur–Udaipur route.
These buses have been procured as part of the state government’s budget announcement, with full-body fabrication by Volvo. All vehicles comply with the BS-6 emission standards, ensuring lower pollution levels and improved environmental performance. Earlier, Volvo buses faced entry restrictions in Delhi; however, these new BS-6 buses will now be permitted to enter the capital.

Push-back seats throughout the fully air-conditioned coaches
Maintenance by Volvo:
Rajasthan Roadways has signed a six-year service and maintenance contract with Volvo, ensuring consistent quality and passenger comfort throughout the operational period.
Roadways officials highlighted that this is the first time since 2010 that the corporation has purchased its own fleet of Volvo buses. These modern buses are expected to offer passengers a more comfortable travel experience while contributing to increased revenue for the transport body.
Route-Wise Deployment Plan:
Jaipur–Delhi: 9 new Volvo buses (to replace existing Scania buses)
Jaipur–Kainchi Dham: 2 Volvo buses
Roadways Chairperson Shubhra Singh stated that the state government aims to provide the public with high-quality and comfortable travel options at affordable rates. She expressed confidence that the new buses will increase public preference for Rajasthan Roadways and further enhance the corporation’s reputation.
