
Beijing, May 22: Chinese Premier Li Qiang recently signed an order from the State Council. This order establishes new regulations for the implementation of China’s Mineral Resource Law, set to take effect on June 15.
The primary aim of these regulations is to ensure the effective enforcement of the revised Mineral Resource Law. They seek to enhance the proper development and utilization of mineral resources, strengthen the protection of both mineral resources and the ecological environment, promote high-quality growth in the mining industry, and guarantee the security of mineral resources.
The regulations include improvements to the mining rights system. They provide clear provisions for the establishment, granting, renewal, and transfer of mining rights.
Additionally, the regulations enhance the arrangements related to the exploration and mining of mineral resources. They outline the establishment and improvement of basic geological survey technical standards and systems.
Furthermore, the regulations improve arrangements for ecological restoration in mining areas. They also enhance the emergency response system for mineral resource reserves and improve the supervision and management system.
