
Firozabad, May 22: A tragic accident occurred on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway late Thursday night, resulting in the deaths of a bus driver and conductor. The incident involved a collision between a bus and a truck, which led to the bus catching fire.
Fifteen passengers sustained injuries in the crash. They were promptly admitted to a hospital in Shikohabad, with ten of them referred to a medical college for further treatment.
City Magistrate Vinod Pandey reported that the double-decker bus collided with a truck, causing the fire that claimed the lives of the driver and conductor. Five individuals are currently hospitalized at a trauma center, while others are receiving treatment in Shikohabad and Saifai.
Dr. Piyush Gangwar provided updates, stating that patients began arriving at the hospital around 2:45 AM. A total of 15 injured individuals were brought in, with ten in serious condition requiring referral. The remaining five suffered minor injuries and were discharged after treatment.
One female passenger recounted her experience, saying, “We were traveling from Kanpur to Delhi. I fell asleep after 10:30 PM and woke up in the hospital.”
A hospital staff member confirmed that the collision between a tanker and the bus resulted in the injuries of 15 passengers, with ten being referred for advanced care. One bus conductor suffered severe burns in the incident, which occurred around 2:45 AM.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Authority reported that the collision took place in the Matsena police area, leading to the bus catching fire and injuring approximately 15 passengers. The bus was en route from Kanpur to Delhi-Gurugram.
The severity of the accident left witnesses in shock, as they could only watch helplessly as the bus burned. The scene was filled with screams and chaos. Upon receiving the news, authorities quickly dispatched ambulances to transport the injured to the hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention.
