
Beijing, May 31: The main conference of the 2026 Global Ecological Civilization Forum took place on May 30 in Dali, a city in southwestern China’s Yunnan Province. Under the theme “Advancing Innovation for a Beautiful China,” the event attracted over 200 guests from 16 countries, including China, Germany, Canada, and Thailand, who engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics.
Participants emphasized the critical role of technological innovation and global cooperation in advancing ecological civilization. They believe that innovation-driven development can accelerate low-carbon transitions and provide new energy and inspiration for high-quality global development. Additionally, strengthening shared governance and mutual benefits through practical cooperation was deemed essential.
A representative from Thailand noted that China has rich experience in ecological conservation, poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, and the development of new energy. He also mentioned that Thailand possesses unique resources and developmental advantages. He urged both countries to enhance mutual exchanges, public relations, and cooperation.
During the conference, an official from China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment shared insights on policies and achievements related to building a beautiful China. He stated that China will continue to prioritize environmental protection efforts centered around this goal. Furthermore, the fight against pollution will be intensified, with ongoing adaptations of ecosystems, acceleration of green and low-carbon transitions, and active participation in global environmental and climate governance.
